In 2008 Kat brought a handful of bags of her yummy granola to a tiny farmers' market in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was known for her killer bake goods, but soon was renamed "that granola girl." Groovy Guru Granola was born!  

It didn't take long for us to take off and land in a few locally owned grocery stores. We continue our relationship with the people by returning every year to the farmers' markets where we got our start. 

Since our beginning we have had the commitment to support our local farmers and producers. Our heart is in the community!

We have partnered with several local and regional honey farmers'  along with multiple organic nut suppliers! All of our organic oats come from a wonderful statewide co-op where a dozen local, small family farms' hard work gets to shine!

As Gandhi so poetically stated: Be the change you wish to see in the world! We are striving everyday to make that statement a reality by not only donating 1% of ALL granola profits to environmental organizations but also sponsoring women survivors through Women for Women. We support and donate time and effort to many local and global causes.

Kat continues to be the sole-owner of Groovy Guru Granola and is the artisan behind all our granola flavors. She and the Guru Team lovely hand-pack the granola while jammin' to Jimi Hendrix and Bob Seager!  

We added tie-dyes and hemp jewelry to our product line in Spring 2011, but our heart will be forever linked with bags of granola making a difference both locally and globally! And most important, it's super tasty too!!!
